Melted Cheese and Bacon Burger

Hey guys!

So here is an easy recipe for a bacon cheeseburger! I wanted to create another ingredient using my banana bacon and nacho cheese. The nacho cheese is in this recipe here.

Ingredients

  • White Burger Bun

  • Chia Seeds

  • Banana Skins

  • Iceberg Lettuce

  • Nacho Cheese

  • Button Mushroom

  • White Onion

  • Chickpeas

  • Sage

  • Peppercorns

  • Cumin Seeds

  • Chilli Powder

  • Rice

  • White Sugar

  • Smoked Paprika

  • Thyme

  • Salt

  • Mustard

  • Ketchup

  • Salad Tomatoes

  • Vegetable Oils

  • White Flour

  • Breadcrumbs

So this is really simple, you simply dice up a white onion and save a little for your garnish. Add that part to some ice cold water with some lettuce. Finely chop up the rest and add to a drizzle of oil, salt, water, cumin seeds, chilli powder, peppercorns, sage thyme and fry until brown. Then add some finely chopped mushrooms, add some miso paste if you like, I didn’t because I felt that the ingredients were caramelised enough to keep the flavour delicious on its own.

You cook out the mushrooms until they are softened and absorbing the flavour of the dish, I then added a quarter of a can of chickpeas and some of the water as an egg substitute. Then adding 4tbsp of breadcrumbs and about the same in white flour. Take the pot off the heat and let to cool. When you can pick up the mixture, shape into balls and prepare a pan with some hot oil for about three minutes and add the burgers, fry til they have a crisp and brown edge on each side.

In a separate pan fry up some banana skins as prepared here. I added an extra smokey level to the flavour by lining my skillet with foil, add some rice, paprika and white sugar. Heat up and this will begin to smoke, and then add another shell of foil with the bacon in. You then heat up and cover the entire pan with foil, voila you have a home smoker! Leave until whenever you like.

So the easy and final part is the assembly! Grab some water-soaked white onion and iceberg lettuce, nacho cheese which is coming next, a slice of salad tomatoes, your bacon, and toasted bun. I also mixed up some of my mayonnaise with ketchup, mustard, and hot sauce for some spicy burger sauce.
