Sustainable Food at the Kindling

Hey everyone!

So with Agitprop one of my missions is to bring attention to Brighton based businesses, as you know I wanted to focus on bringing attention to new and interesting sites for you guys to venture to.

One of those interesting places was the new restaurant, the Kindling. The Kindling was something the Baron was telling me about a little while before it arrived, and basically it was a concept restaurant that maintained the ethos that everything must be sustainable and locally sourced. That is a community of people that all believe in the same mission, have come together to make amazing food, formed a team whilst being mindful about how to create that in ways that doesn’t have to be wasteful.

I also wanted to touch on non vegan food for some reviews because I want to tempt in the non vegans and then lead them into my recipes muwahaha. Give me some feedback, do you want me to explore more so this area?. So here’s a test one and I thought it was still a great example of the ethos in this particular restaurant.

So we attended the beautiful Brighton location and we decided to test out the Lunch Menu, which goes for £20.95 for a starter, main and dessert. Kinda crazy cheap for such a great quality food destination but again, this fits in with the mindset that accompanies this location.

I’m very much into not wasting food and many of my recipes here are designed to combine ingredients, so if you went for one weekly shop, you’re not spending hundreds of pounds on particulars, you can use half of one veg in this, save it for something else. And when you think about this type of thing you can still produce amazing tasting food. This is where Kindling does a fantastic job. It mixes amazing recipes that are from things you can grab around town.

So the potatoe and pea soup was particularly to die for. My mum had locally sourced fish, which we asked about. She was absolutely in love with the deserts, the orange with the chocolate blew her away and for such a simple plate it was amazingly tasty. Highly recommended for any Brightonians wanting a delicious feast.
