Traditional Moments in Amsterdam

Hey everyone!

Amsterdam is full of a lot of debaucheries but there’s also a very fabulous and artisanal side that often gets overlooked with talk of the weed and the hookers. Don’t get me wrong, if that’s your tea then I hope you have a wonderful time with it, but when I was very young I used to look through photos of my grandparents who toured around Europe quite frequently with my mum and being pretty religious they were not going to be doing a tour of the red light district. I was told stories of the diamond factories, the cheese and the clogs, and that’s the part that I think people forget about.

Here’s some of the fabulous traditional clogs nailed to the walls of the facilities in the Zaanse Schans area, which is full of windmills. These pretty shoes needed a focus on their own but I’ll delve into the other side of this here.
