Five Star Living in Barcelona with Hotel Sophia

Hey everyone!

So I had such a wonderful opportunity to stay at one of the most lovely new hotels in Barcelona, it’s relatively new and I was unfamiliar with its existence from previous trips but it is a gorgeous 5 star called Hotel Sophia. So Hotel Sophia has quite a modern and grande feel to it, it reminds me of some of the foyers I’ve stayed in during work bits in London but it was very fabulous and had a gin bar at the entrance. I really loved the hospital staff and we were given a bit of a talk about what the Hotel had to offer including full spa facilities and a variety of amenities.

I was brought to my room and it was really spectacular, it was one of the biggest generic suites I’ve stayed in and it was a really cool layout. It was a long set up but it was divided clearly into an entrance lounge section that had a desk, your wardrobes and a bathroom off the left. Then there was a huge mini bar with a lot of delicious bits in, and a lot of room for you to park your luggage. Then the room expanded even further to a beautiful bed and seating area, which had a tv and all that jaz that I would skip over. I really loved the fact that the opposite end of the bed, paralell was a double shower and double sink, so you had a really lovely feel of luxury and it would be awesome to stay there with your partner.

I’m a bit of a stupid fool so things like all the mechanicals that make the doors and windows open and shut really entertain me so I was there for some time talking to my partner, dancing to Meghan the Stallion and enjoying opening and closing the shutters like a prize fool.

I wanted to grab some food and the room service was really yummy, I actually requested breakfast the next morning with some vegan cheese that wasn’t on the menu and they were able to do so, they had loads. They had an Americanised option to breakfast with all the frills you could expect from a high-end hotel. There was basically everything you could imagine and I actually thought it was the best night sleep I had had in about a year, so for a work trip, this was a mega trip.

I had just flown from Paris and wanted to crash so I didn’t spend much time exploring all that the Hotel had to offer but what I did see was lovely. There was three restaurants that I could see which included Impar, Sophia Be So and Zuu which have fabulous reviews. The outdoor pool would have been lovely to explore and I would like to revisit there when I have some time off as I can imagine having a fun night out and heading back there to chill out for a few days at the spa, would be exquisite.

Definitely check out all the details on their site as I really didn’t get to try it all, but it had some bells and some whistles and I loved the experience.
